A BEAD BOUTIQUE opened on December 20, 2005. As a jewelry designer, Suzan Richey, was always in pursuit of beads! Fresh water pearls, gemstones, Swarovski crystals (vintage and new), glass… whatever it took to create her jewelry. Finding those beads was almost as much fun as “collecting” beads! When the shop opened, Suzan had quite a selection of beads; however, that collection has grown! 

When people walk in to the shop, the response is fairly consistent… “WOW!” Knowing that she can never have every bead, Suzan is having fun trying to do just that!

TRUNK SHOWS… Suzan welcomed vendors to Central Louisiana and her shop, even before her official opening. The idea of “trunk shows” happened almost by accident, when one vendor was passing through town. Suzan asked if it was okay for a few of her customers to “shop from their selection of beads”. Since that first show, Suzan has hosted numerous events in the shop.  Her customers look forward to regular TRUNK SHOWS, featuring fresh water pearls, sterling silver (Bali, Hilltribe, and vermeil), ready to wear sterling silver jewelry, gemstones, and much more. Perhaps some of the most anticipated shows are the “Suzi Stash Sales”! 

PARTIES… Birthday parties! Group parties! Big Girl Parties! Even “the men of A BEAD BOUTIQUE” parties! Suzan regularly welcomes groups to the shop. “BEADOVERS” (not to be confused with ‘sleep overs’) are growing more and more popular. Groups meet after work, usually on a Friday, and bead well into the night!

CLASSES… Suzan has a different approach to classes. She offers one-on-one classes in basic stringing, wire working and weaving. Group classes are available, too; however, most beginning students appreciate the opportunity work individually. Suzan offers a two part “finishing class” for more experienced beaders, giving them the opportunity to focus on specific areas. 

Guest teachers specializing in specific areas, are also invited to teach in the shop. Those have included classes such as wire wrapping and precious metal clay. 

HOURS OF OPERATION… Open Tuesday - Friday: 11am-5:45pm Saturday 11am-4:00pm  (Closed  Sunday & Monday)
